Refunds and Replacements Policy

All Barbour and Backhouse clothing comes with the manufacturer's written 12 month guarantee. This is provided on the back of the garment's swing tag, and the full Barbour guarantee is as follows:
"J. Barbour & Sons Ltd., undertake that, for a period of 12 months after the purchase of one of their products, should any fault arise due to faulty materials or workmanship, they will, at their discretion, repair or replace the defective part.
This guarantee does not apply to faults caused by misuse, excessive wear and tear, accidents or alterations to the product carried out by persons other than the manufacturer. It is also invalid if the product has not been worn and looked after in accordance with the care instructions supplied.
The guarantee applies to the original purchaser only and is given in addition to your statutory rights."
The W. K. Backhouse guarantee is very similar.

In the unlikely event that you need to return a product to us for exchange or replacement, simply complete the Return Form enclosed with your product and put it with the item to be returned in an envelope, post bag or box suitable for mail or courier transport. Please ensure that you enclose the Return Form with all relevant details filled out. We strongly recommend that you send it by Insured Airmail, as it is your responsibility to ensure that the returned item reaches us. We are unable to make refunds on sale items unless they are defective.

If you would like to exchange it for another item send us an e-mail advising us of this and return the item to us. As long as it is returned in as-new saleable condition for exchange for another item from our catalogue we will credit/debit the cost difference between the two items. The cost of all shipping shall be the customer's responsibility. To ensure that it is in saleable condition, please do not remove the swing tag whilst trying it on for size and style, and be careful with the re-packing. Should the item not reach us in saleable condition and we have to repack it a US$10 fee will be charged.
Should the customer wish to return an item and not be able to find an alternative product from our on-line catalogue, then as long as it is returned within 30 days from the date of purchase in an as-new condition, we will refund the cost of the item, but not the cost of shipping, and less a 10% re-stocking fee.
If you have received an item that has a manufacturing fault send us an e-mail describing the fault, then send the item back to us, and we will refer it to the manufacturer for repair or replacement. If the manufacturer accepts that it has a fault, it will be repaired or replaced free of charge and any shipping costs will be reimbursed to a maximum of US$26.
Refunds will be made via the original method of payment. For example, if you paid for the item using your credit card we will credit your card the refund.
